Super Castlevania IV Japanese Vs American Version

The American version of Super Castlevania IV (SCV4) is basically a censored version of the original Japanese version of the game. There is no gameplay differences between the two, only a few graphical differences, and a few sound changes. Here is a rundown of all the changes:

Japanese

American

Japanese

American

All crucifixes removed in American version. Japanese version has the word Dracura on it where as the American version has it scrambled out.

I noticed that the American version has a brighter green text for the words SCORE, PLAYER, ENEMY, BLOCK, TIME, etc:

Once again crucifixes are removed in the American version and replaced with.. rocks?

The map screen has the corresponding title for each version, but no other changes.

All the tombstones in this area have the crucifixes removed in the American version.

Notice how the statues in stage 6 for the Japanese version is more nude rather than clothed in the American version.

The coffins in the American version have the crucifixes removed from them.

Another example of coffins between the two versions.

The gold statue in 6-3 is more nude in the Japanese version, but clothed in the American version.

Probably the biggest graphical difference between the two is that the Japanese version has all blood in stage 8, where as they changed it to green slime in the American version.

Another example of blood in the Japanese and green slime in the American. And more crucifixes (on the coffins in the background) removed in the American version.

I think you get the idea..

As far as sound changes go, I think the only sound difference is the sound of the chain whip, everything else is the same (I think). Keep in mind that this pretty much explains all the differences between the two. If there is anything I left out, please let me know and I will add it here.
