Lucio's Allied Synergies

I first want to mention that in order for allies to receive Lucio's auras, they must be within 30 meters of Lucio and maintain line of sight with him.  This also holds true for right when Lucio activates his ultimate Sound Barrier.

Lucio's top support heroes:

1)  Ana:  Ana takes the number one spot for the best support hero to pair up with Lucio and that is due to a few factors, but mostly:  Lucio's heal aura pairs very well with Ana's Biotic Grenades, as more allies will be able to take advantage of the double healing effects of the Biotic Grenade's splash radius and Lucio's aura, making this a very strong synergy.

Another factor that comes into play is Lucio's speed aura makes up for Ana's slow mobility.  With speed aura, Ana will be able to dodge enemy ultimate more effectively along with positioning herself quicker.

If Ana doesn't land her Sleep Dart on a close up enemy, Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to knock enemies away from her, or Lucio can use his ultimate Sound Barrier to provide protection as well.

Even though Ana's ultimate Nano Boost provides extra damage protection, allies are still somewhat vulnerable while Nano Boosted, but when combined with Lucio's Sound Barrier the Nano Boosted ally becomes an unstoppable force.  For example, Genji's Dragonblade or offensive flankers such as Tracer and Reaper Nano Boosted with a Sound Barrier is extremely powerful.

Nano Boosting Lucio himself is usually not a good idea though, as he lacks on DPS and already moves quickly on his own.  There will most likely be much better candidates for Ana to Nano Boost.

2)  Symmetra:  Symmetra's Photon Shield pairs well with Lucio in general.  Having all allies have a +25 HP shield gives more HP for Lucio's heal aura to heal up amongst his allies.  Normally shields only regenerate after 3 seconds of not taking damage, but healing effects such as Lucio's heal aura can bypass this and start healing shield HP immediately.

Lucio, having 200 HP, benefits a lot from Symmetra's Photon Shield, as it will simply take more fire power to take him down and decreasing his chance of dying, thus keeping his auras on the battlefield more often.

Symmetra benefits a lot from Lucio's auras.  Symmetra normally has poor mobility, but with speed aura she can dodge enemy ultimates much easier, and allows her to move around faster to put down Sentry Turrets and her ultimate Teleporter.  Speed aura can also help Symmetra deal with flankers more effectively.

Symmetra benefits a lot from Lucio's heal aura as she is usually in range of Lucio to receive his auras.  Heal aura virtually eliminates the need for Symmetra to worry about getting health packs and it will consistently keep her healed up during a match.

Summetra's Teleporter gets less value from Lucio than other heroes since he is the 3rd fastest hero of getting back to the fight faster after dying along with getting other allies faster back as well (thanks to speed aura).  But teleporting Lucio (and allies) back to the fight is still much faster overall.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can protect Symmetra in times when she is getting flanked or enabling her to be more aggressive with her Projector Beam close up to the enemy for a short period of time, which in turn can help charge up Symmetra's Teleporter faster.

3)  Zenyatta:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is a great compliment for Lucio's heal aura, providing his team with a very overall strong healing capabilities between the two.  When Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is combined with Lucio's heal aura, it will dramatically increase the survival of the ally who has this combo, as this ally would have a total of 42 HP healing per second and then 70 HP healing per second once Lucio's Amp it Up is used.  If Lucio receives the Harmony Orb it can keep Lucio alive much more efficiently and can keep his auras in the game more often.

Speed aura is very beneficial for Zenyatta because his normal movement speed and overall mobility is very poor.  Speed aura is especially useful for getting Zenyatta back to the fight faster after dying, avoiding enemy ultimates and helping him reposition elsewhere quicker.  Speed aura can also get more use with the team since Zenyatta is there to heal damaged allies for him (instead of switching to heal aura in certain situations).

Pay attention to what enemy has received Zenyatta's Orb of Discord and try to spam your sonic projectiles towards that enemy as it will receive +50% more damage from all attacks taken.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero and Lucio can protect him by using Soundwave to knock enemies and flankers away from him.  Enemies such as Mei (and her freeze gun), Reinhardt (and his Rocket Hammer), Reaper (his shotguns) and McCree (Flashbangs) are the most important to make sure they are knocked back from both you and Zenyatta.

Both Lucio and Zenyatta's ultimates are very similar in function and use.  They will both provide means of a strong protection for allies around them for a brief period of time and they are both great for initiating strong pushes towards the enemy.  Because of their similarities, it is recommended that the two ultimates be spaced apart from each other to take the most advantage of them.  When one is used after the other one has ended, it can dramatically ensure the success of a push or to prevent the enemy from pushing forward.

4)  Lucio:  Double Lucio is actually quite common and the reason why is that one can have speed aura on while the other one uses heal aura, thus letting your team have both auras at the same time.  This serves to be quite powerful for making it easier to push forward, avoid enemy ultimates, making it harder for the enemy to hit you, all while providing a nice consistent healing.

Two Lucios can both use heal or speed aura at the same time to cover more ground for healing or speed, but keep in mind that Lucio's auras do not stack with other Lucios, this means you cannot have two or more Lucios use heal aura or speed aura to make things twice as strong.  You should always be mindful where the other Lucio is at so you will have a better understanding if you should use speed or healing.

Having twice the Amp It Ups can provide interesting strategic uses amongst the two Lucios.  You can keep a strong Amp It Up heal train going, by having the other Lucio switch to speed while the other Amps Up healing constantly through out the match.  This can require some team communication with the other Lucio to effectively pull this off.

Having two Lucios on the team provides twice the speed boost opportunities to get allies back to the fight faster after death.

Lucio's Sound Barrier is a very powerful ultimate, so why not be able to have twice as much of it?  Keep in mind that it is wise to space out Sound Barriers since two Sound Barriers together won't really do anything extra and you will just be wasting the ultimate.  But spacing them apart will give your team the ability to withstand a lot of damage more often, making it easier to push forward or to prevent the opposing team from pushing.

5)  Mercy:  A Lucio and a Mercy together provide an incredible source of overall team healing capabilities, and it might be overkill on that as the two heroes combined do not output a whole lot of damage, so this combo lacks damage output.  Although I can see this combo working if there are other allies on the team that can make up for the missing damage output.

Lucio's heal aura is very beneficial for keeping Mercy's HP maxed more often, thus allowing her to be more aggressive at flying around to support different allies and keeping her in the game more often.  Mercy's healing Beam on Lucio can be effective occasionally, especially when his Amp it Up is on a cooldown and he just so happens to be near Mercy at the time.

Lucio's speed aura is not that effective with Mercy since her Guardian Angel ability is a fast movement ability that she can use quite frequently.  Speed aura does not increase the speed of Mercy's Guardian Angel, but speed aura can help her to dodge enemy ultimates and move out of the enemy's line of sight a bit easier when she's not using Guardian Angel.

Lucio's Soundwave can be effective to help keep deadly close range enemies away from Mercy, but she can also use her Guardian Angel ability to escape from deadly close range enemies as well.

Lucio's Sound Barrier works great for keeping Mercy alive during strong pushes or when Mercy is getting flanked.  Sound Barrier in general provides great variety with Mercy's ultimate Resurrect, as they serve different functions.  This is unlike Lucio and Zenyatta, where both of their ultimates serve very similar uses, or Symmetra and Mercy ultimates are both used to get dead heroes back to the fight faster.

Even though Mercy's Resurrect is a very strong overall team ability to bring dead allies back to the fight almost instantly, it gets the least use out of Lucio.  This is because Lucio's speed aura combined with his Amp It Up ability enables him and other nearby allies to quickly get back to the fight faster after dying.  Lucio is the 3rd fastest hero of getting back to the fight faster after dying (after Tracer and Soldier 76).  Since both Lucio and Mercy are both healers, Lucio's healing will mean less for the match when he is dead.  This makes Lucio the least important one to be Resurrected.

Even then, if Lucio died and a few others, it can still be beneficial for Mercy to Resurrect these allies to bring them back to the fight virtually instantly.  But the synergy is not as strong, since Lucio can speed boost all these dead allies back to the fight relatively fast as well.

Lucio's top tank synergies:

1)  Reinhardt:  Reinhardt greatly benefits from both of Lucio's auras.  Lucio's heal aura works great for keeping Reinhardt (and his team) healed up consistently throughout a match.  Speed aura allows Reinhardt to move around much faster when his shield is out, and combined with Lucio's Amp it Up, Reinhardt can move very fast with his shield out.  Lucio's auras allows Reinhardt to be more aggressive at charging enemies and getting up close to use his Rocket Hammer melee attacks.

Lucio benefits from Reinhardt's shield by allowing him to safely stay behind it and spam his sonic projectiles at the enemy.  Lucio can protect Reinhardt up close from deadly close range heroes such as Mei's freeze gun, McCree's Flashbangs and Reaper's shotguns by blowing them away from Reinhardt with his Soundwave ability.

Lucio's Sound Barrier provides Reinhardt and his team with powerful temporary shields which allows Reinhardt to have the opportunity to be more creative by lowering his shield and charging up close to his enemies to get some Rocket Hammer attacks off before it wears off.  Reinhardt can use an Earthshatter at this time to prevent enemies from running away from the Sound Barrier.

2)  Roadhog:  Lucio's auras are very useful for Roadhog.  Lucio's heal aura can provide a slow consistent healing for Roadhog, allowing him to not use his Take a Breather as often and keeping the Scrap Gun blasts going.  Lucio's speed aura makes up for Roadhog's poor mobility, allowing him to avoid enemy ultimates, move in and out of combat quickly to Chain Hook enemies in, and to get back to the fight much faster after dying.  Speed aura also makes Roadhog's movement while using Whole Hog much faster, enabling him to position himself better while using it.

Lucio can protect Roadhog up close from deadly close range heroes such as Mei's freeze gun, McCree's Flashbangs and Reaper's shotguns by blowing them away from Roadhog with his Soundwave ability.  Roadhog can also protect Lucio from getting ambushed by using Whole Hog to knock enemies away from him or by Chain Hooking enemies away from Lucio.

Lucio's Sound Barrier provides Roadhog and his team with powerful temporary shields which allows Roadhog to have the opportunity to be more aggressive at moving in the front lines to Chain Hook enemies into him and getting clearer Scrap Gun shots in.  Sound Barrier also pairs well with Roadhog's Whole Hog, as normally Roadhog is vulnerable while using it and Sound Barrier can ensure his survival during it.

3)  Winston:  Lucio's auras are very beneficial for Winston.  Since Winston needs to be in close range to his enemies to deal any damage, Lucio's speed aura helps him to get in range of his enemies more efficiently, allowing him to make it a harder target for his enemies to shoot at.  However, Lucio's heal aura is more important for Winston because his frequent Leaps enable him to get around quickly, so healing is what he will be needing more of.  Heal aura can keep Winston from worrying about Leaping to health packs as often and can help keep him healed up consistently throughout a match.

Lucio's heal aura tends to be more effective than Mercy's healing, as it can be risky for Mercy to support Winston with his wild random Leaps in close range, even with his barriers.

Even though Winston can Leap away from deadly close range enemies (such as Mei, Reinhardt, McCree and Reaper), he can still take advantage of Lucio's Soundwave (knock back) ability to provide another means of keeping those enemies away from him as well.

Lucio's Sound Barrier enables Winston to safely go in the front lines for some quick easy damage up close.  Sound Barrier is a powerful ability that enables strong pushes towards the enemy, and Winston pairs well with Sound Barrier to make pushes more successful.  Once the Sound Barrier is over, Winston can then throw down a barrier for further protection.

4)  Zarya:  Lucio's auras work great with Zarya.  Lucio's speed aura enables Zarya to be more aggressive with popping in and out of the front lines quicker while using her Particle Barrier to absorb damage.  Speed aura helps Zarya to escape from enemy ultimates as normally she is very slow without it.  Speed aura enables Zarya to get back to the fight much faster after dying and can help her to reposition elsewhere much faster.

Lucio's heal aura is great for keeping Zarya consistently healed up during a match and since Zarya is usually right around her team, she is usually near Lucio's line of sight to take advantage of his heal aura.

Lucio can protect Zarya up close from deadly close range heroes such as Mei's freeze gun, McCree's Flashbangs and Reaper's shotguns by blowing them away from Zarya with his Soundwave ability.  Zarya can also protect Lucio from getting ambushed by putting a Projected Barrier on him.

Lucio's Sound Barrier provides Zarya and his team with powerful temporary shields which allows Zarya to have the opportunity to be more aggressive at moving in the front lines to deal damage to her enemies for a short period of time.  Zarya can use Particle/Projected Barriers during Sound Barrier because they can still charge up her weapon to make it stronger, but the damage blocked won't mean much.

There isn't a whole lot Lucio can do with dealing with enemies stuck in Zarya's ultimate Graviton Surge besides spamming Sonic Projectiles at the clumped up enemies.  However, Lucio can use a Sound Barrier to protect allies that are getting up close to the clumped up enemies.  Allies such as a Roadhog using his ultimate Whole Hog, Genji using Dragonblade, Reaper using Deathblossom or Tracer using Pulse Bomb can all benefit from having Sound Barrier on to help them survive while using their ultimates against enemies stuck in a Graviton Surge.

5)  D.va:  Lucio's auras are useful for D.va as it can provide an ample flow of healing, allowing her to stay in the fight longer without worrying about boosting to health packs as much.  Lucio's speed aura can allow D.va to move a bit quicker while firing her Fusion Cannons and allowing her to move faster while having Defense Matrix out.  Keep in mind that speed aura has no effect on D.va's Booster speed.

Both Lucio and D.va have ways to knock close enemies away from them.  D.va can boost through enemies to knock them down and Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to blow people away from him.  Since they both have capabilities to do this, it lessens the synergistic value between the two heroes.

Lucio tends to chill in the backlines of his team while boosting his teammates with healing and speed.  If Lucio gets overwhelmed with enemies he can take advantage of D.va's Defense Matrix to keep him and his auras alive more often.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can allow D.va to boost right up close to the enemy for a short period of time to dish out as much Fusion Cannon damage as possible.

It's generally a good idea for D.va to space out her ultimate Self-Destruct with Lucio's Sound Barrier, as both of them will make enemies run and hide until either one is over.  Why not space them out so it keeps enemies away for a longer period of time?

Lucio also pairs well with:

1)  Torbjorn:  Torbjorn greatly benefits from Lucio's auras due to his slow mobility.  Heal aura can keep Torbjorn going strong without worrying about reaching for health packs as much, allowing him to spend more time with his turret to keep it repaired.  Speed aura helps Torbjorn maneuver around quickly to repair his turret, pickup scrap, fire shots at his enemies, quickly throw down Armor Packs for allies to get, and to dodge enemy ultimates.

Lucio's Soundwave can keep dangerous close up enemies away from Torbjorn, including:  Mei's freeze gun, Reaper's shotguns, Reinhardt's rocket hammer, and McCree's fan fire.  Lucio can also use a Soundwave to knock enemies into Torbjorn's turret's line of sight.

Torbjorn can give an Armor Pack for Lucio, which can help him survive a bit longer, keeping your auras on the rest of your team more consistently.

It's generally better for Torbjorn to wait and use his ultimate Molten Core at a different time that Lucio uses Sound Barrier.  Sound Barrier provides temporary shields, but Molten Core works similar for Torbjorn by providing +300 extra armor for a short time.  By having Torbjorn space his ultimate apart he will effectively stay alive longer and be able to stay more aggressive.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can make it easier for Torbjorn to go in the front lines to pick up Scrap, which in turn can supply more Armor Packs for your team.

2)  Soldier 76:  Since soldier 76 has Sprint for speed and Biotic Fields for healing, makes Lucio's auras a bit less useful to Soldier 76.  Even though Sprint and speed aura can stack and provide an incredible amount of speed for Soldier 76.  Have you ever seen Soldier 76 Sprint while under speed aura and Amp It Up?  It's crazy funny.

Biotic Fields combined with heal aura is another crazy synergy worth mentioning.  This can allow Soldier 76 to withstand a ton of continuous damage, allowing him to be more safely in the frontlines to dish out Pulse Rifle damage.

Since Lucio and Soldier 76 typically stay around each other, Soldier 76 can take advantage of Luio's Soundwave ability (knocks back enemies).  This can further protect Soldier 76 from deadly close up enemies such as Reinhardt and his Rocket Hammer, Mei and her Freeze gun, and McCree with his Flashbangs.

Lucio's Sound Barrier pairs well with Soldier 76's ultimate Tactical Visor, allowing Soldier 76 to withstand a lot of damage for the duration of his ultimate.

3)  Pharah:  Lucio's heal aura is very beneficial for Pharah and it can help keep her alive longer and she wont have to worry about obtaining health packs as much.  Speed aura can be effective with Pharah as it will still work even while she is Jet Packing around in the air.  When she is on the ground it can help her avoid enemies, and especially their ultimates.

When Pharah lands on the ground from her jet pack ability, Lucio can protect her with his Soundwave ability by knocking enemies away from her, and this especially helps to keep Mei's frost stream, Reinhardt's Rocket Hammer swings, and other close up deadly attacks away from her.

Lucio's Sound Barrier is very powerful when combined with Pharah's ultimate Barrage.  Since Pharah becomes so vulnerable while using Barrage, the extra temporary shield from Lucio's Sound Barrier will ensure that Barrage will not get Pharah killed in the process.

4)  McCree:  Lucio's heal aura is very beneficial with McCree, not as potent as Mercy's healing beam, but it's enough to keep McCree from running for health packs.  Lucio's speed aura can give McCree an occasional speed boost to help him dodge enemy ultimates, or to run him back to the fight faster after dying.

Lucio's Sound Barrier pairs very well with McCree's Deadeye, allowing him to withstand a lot of damage while revving up his Deadeye shots.  Speed aura (with Amp It Up) is also very effective combined with McCree's Deadeye.  Normally McCree moves very slow with Deadeye, but with speed aura it can make it a harder target for enemies to hit him and it makes it easier for McCree to get more enemies within view to fire at.

Lucio has trouble dealing with Pharah, but McCree is a decent counter to Pharah, thus relieving some pressure off of Lucio in this case.

5)  Genji:  Lucio's speed and heal auras work wonderfully with Genji.  Being able to move faster and get healed while out attacking is huge for Genji.  Since Lucio's auras only have a range of 30 meters, it's important to make sure the two of you stay somewhat close in order to make this synergy work smoothly.  Lucio's auras also only work when the two of you keep line of sight with each other, which can prove to be difficult to achieve sometimes due to Genji's nature of moving through rooms/hallways to flank enemies from behind.

Lucio's Soundwave can help Genji by knocking back enemies that Deflect does not work on, such as Winston and his Tesla Cannon, Mei and her freeze gun, Symmetra and her Photon Projector, and Zarya's Particle Beam.

Lucio's Sound Barrier pairs well with Genji's ultimate Dragonblade as it will keep Genji alive more efficiently while he's using it thanks to the temporary shield.

6)  Mei:  Mei benefits a lot from Lucio's auras, especially speed aura.  Speed aura allows Mei to be more aggressive with her freeze gun and to move in and out of combat seamlessly.  Heal aura is only somewhat useful with Mei as she has Cryo-Freeze which she can use to heal herself anyways, but with a constant healing it can allow her to continue to freeze enemies up close without worrying about using Cryo-Freeze as much.  Also when Mei uses Cryo-Freeze, she is unable to receive Lucio's auras or your Sound Barrier.

Lucio's Sonic Projectiles travel somewhat slow, so it's not the best weapon to use against frozen targets.

Lucio's Soundwave is not too important around Mei since she can use Ice Walls to block deadly close range attackers away from her, and she excels in close range combat herself with her freeze gun and Cryo-Freeze.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can allow Mei to be aggressive up close with her freeze gun for a short period of time, but unfortunately Mei's ultimate Blizzard does not have much synergistic value with Lucio, and Lucio is usually better off saving his Sound Barrier at a different time Mei uses a Blizzard.  The extra shields from Sound Barrier are no use against frozen targets from a Blizzard.

7)  Junkrat:  Lucio's heal aura is very beneficial with Junkrat, and can keep Junkrat from running for health packs.  Lucio's speed aura can give Junkrat an occasional speed boost to help him dodge enemy ultimates, or to run him back to the fight faster after dying.

Junkrat's Trap/Mine combo can be effective at guarding Lucio's position from flankers.  Enemies caught in Junkrat's Steel Trap are easy targets for Lucio to shoot at with his sonic projectiles.

Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to knock back enemies away from Junkrat, this is especially useful against enemies like Mei and her freeze blaster, Reinhardt and his Rocket Hammer and Reaper's shotguns.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can allow Junkrat to be more aggressive towards the enemy, allowing him to mine jump around more safely while spamming grenades.  When Junkrat uses his ultimate Rip-Tire and his stationary character is getting flanked, Lucio can save him by using Sound Barrier.

8)  Hanzo:  Lucio's heal aura is beneficial with Hanzo, can can keep Hanzo from running for health packs.  Lucio's speed aura can give Hanzo an occasional speed boost to help him dodge enemy ultimates, or to run him back to the fight faster after dying.

Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to knock back deadly close up enemies away from Hanzo such as Mei's freeze gun, Reinhardt's rocket hammer and Reaper's shotguns.

Lucio's Sound Barrier allows Hanzo to withstand a lot of damage for a short period of time, that can allow Hanzo to move up close to the enemy to get easier shots off more effectively.

Hanzo's Sonic Arrows can allow Lucio to see enemies before they come around a corner, giving him more precise control over spamming his sonic projectiles.  Sonic Arrow can also help Lucio plan to knock an enemy into a pit with Soundwave as they walk around a corner, this tends be helpful on many Control maps.

9)  Widowmaker:  Lucio's auras are somewhat useful for Widowmaker.  Speed aura can help her get away from flankers and escaping enemy ultimates.  Heal aura can keep Widowmaker healed up and let's her focus more on sniping rather than reaching for health packs occasionally.

Normally Lucio and Widowmaker are generally not close together, but if they are, Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to knock back deadly close up enemies from her such as Mei's freeze gun, Reinhardt's rocket hammer and Reaper's shotguns.  But Widowmaker can also use her Grappling Hook to get away from these same enemies as well.

Widowmaker's ultimate Infra-Sight can allow Lucio to see enemies before they come around a corner, giving him more precise control over spamming his sonic projectiles.  Infra-Sight can also help Lucio plan to knock an enemy into a pit with Soundwave as they walk around a corner, this tends be helpful on many Control maps.

Lucio's Sound Barrier is not too powerful with Widowmaker, but it can enable her to be more aggressive at grappling closer to the enemy and taking a few good shots without any harm.

10)  Tracer:  As long as Tracer is within range of Lucio's speed and heal auras she will greatly benefit from both of them.  A Tracer with speed aura can be devastating to deal with, she already moves very fast with Blink and Recall, when you put Lucio's speed aura on top of that, things get crazy fast which can make shooting her down very difficult for the enemy.

Tracer also takes great advantage of Lucio's heal aura.  Lucio's heal aura tends to be even more powerful on lower hitpoint heroes since it fills up a larger percentage of health faster.  With Tracer, this will keep her healed very quickly, allowing her to avoid health packs and using Recall as much.

In order to make these auras work smoothly though, both Tracer and Lucio must be at least 30 meters from each other and also keep line of sight together or Tracer will not get the auras.

In order for Tracer to make planning an ambush with Pulse Bomb more effective, she can first receive a Sound Barrier from Lucio and then proceed with the Pulse Bomb ambush.  This will let her take her time a bit better to throw out a successful bomb thanks to the increases temporary shield of Sound Barrier.

11)  Reaper:  Lucio's speed and heal aura can work synergistically very well with Reaper.  Lucio's heal provides Reaper with a steady healing stream and will greatly reduce his need to use Shadow Wraith and to seek health packs.  Speed aura is also very beneficial for Reaper, allowing him to quickly strafe around his enemies will make it much harder for enemies to hit him.  Speed aura also works with Shadow Wraith Form as well.

In order to make this work smoothly though, both Reaper and Lucio must be at least 30 meters from each other and keep line of sight as well or Reaper will not get the auras.

If Reaper is up close to deadly short range damage dealers like Reinhart and his Rocket Hammer or Mei and her Frost Blaster, Lucio can use his Soundwave ability to knock them away from Reaper with a blast of sound.

Lucio's Sound Barrier can be used at the same time with Reaper's Deathblossom to make it more successful and to make sure Reaper survives it properly.

12)  Bastion:  Lucio's auras are not as useful with Bastion as opposed to other allies, and this is due to the stationary nature of Bastion's Sentry Mode and Self-Heal.  Speed aura has no use with a Bastion Sentry, although it can help him get back to the fight faster after death and help him reposition himself elsewhere a bit quicker.  Bastion's Self-Heal makes Lucio's heal aura less useful with Bastion, but heal aura can provide some healing while firing.

Lucio's Soundwave can help Bastion deal with deadly close encounters from Mei's freeze blaster, McCree's flashbang, Genji's Deflect, Reinhardt, Tracer and Reaper.

Lucio's Sound Barrier helps Bastion survive in harsh situations such as when the enemy is initiating a push, or to protect him from many enemy ultimates.  Lucio's Sound Barrier also pairs well with Bastion's ultimate Tank Form.  Normally, Bastion is a bit vulnerable while using Tank Form, but with Sound Barrier he is nearly unstoppable.
