Soldier 76's Enemy Vs Ally Ultimate Comparison

Soldier 76's Allied Synergies

Soldier 76's top support heroes:

1)  Ana:  Ana's Biotic Grenades pairs very well with Soldier 76's Biotic Fields, as when a Biotic Grenade hits allies being healed via Soldier 76's Biotic Fields will receive double the healing effects, giving your team a very powerful AOE healing source.  This works extremely well for healing tanks up quickly and keeping your team alive, especially when initiating pushes.

Healing Soldier 76 with Biotic Rifle shots for Ana can be a little tricky while Soldier 76 is sprinting, but generally he isn't too bad of a target for Ana and might need it when his Biotic Field is not up.

During Soldier 76's ultimate Tactical Visor, he will become more of a prime target for Ana to heal with Biotic Grenades and Rifle shots as he is still vulnerable while using it.

Ana's ultimate Nano Boost makes Soldier 76 a more overall effective damage dealer and a harder target to hit thanks to the increased speed and damage reduction., especially while he's using Tactical Visor.  Soldier 76's Tactical Visor Nano Boosted can be extremely hard for enemies to avoid as he will be able to quickly chase after his opponents much faster along with dealing more damage as well.

2)  Mercy:  Unlike other offensive attackers, Soldier 76 is usually in an accessible spot for Mercy to quickly fly to and provide healing or damage boosting support.  While soldier 76 can heal himself and others with Biotic Fields, Mercy can still provide quick and easy healing for Soldier 76 if he needs it.

Where Mercy really shines at with Soldier 76 is damage boosting.  In fact, I have Soldier 76's ultimate Tactical Visor as the most valuable thing in the game for Mercy to damage boost.  I also have Soldier 76's normal Pulse Rifle as the 2nd best thing to damage boost as far as normal weapons are concerned.

Soldier 76 is also very safe for Mercy to follow due to his Biotic Fields for healing and the fact that Soldier 76 typically doesn't wonder too far from his team unlike other offensive attackers.

Even though Soldier 76 can quickly sprint back to the fight after dying, he can still take advantage of Mercy's Resurrect.  Since Soldier 76 is not really a flanking or harassing hero, and he typically stays with his team, this gives Soldier 76 an easier target for Mercy's Resurrect.

3)  Lucio:  Since soldier 76 has Sprint for speed and Biotic Fields for healing, makes Lucio's auras a bit less useful to Soldier 76.  Even though Sprint and speed aura can stack and provide an incredible amount of speed for Soldier 76.  Have you ever seen Soldier 76 Sprint while under speed aura and Amp It Up?  It's crazy funny.

Biotic Fields combined with heal aura is another crazy synergy worth mentioning.  This can allow Soldier 76 to withstand a ton of continuous damage, allowing him to be more safely in the frontlines to dish out Pulse Rifle damage.  Keep in mind that Lucio's auras only work when you stay within 30 meters of each other and keep line of sight with him as well.

Since Lucio and Soldier 76 typically stay around each other, Soldier 76 can take advantage of Luio's Soundwave ability (knocks back enemies).  This can further protect Soldier 76 from deadly close up enemies such as Reinhardt and his Rocket Hammer, Mei and her Freeze gun, and McCree with his Flashbangs.

Lucio's ultimate Sound Barrier pairs well with Tactical Visor, allowing Soldier 76 to withstand a lot of damage for the duration of his ultimate.

4)  Zenyatta:  Just like Lucio's heal aura, Zenyatta's Harmony Orb on Soldier 76 (even combined with Biotic Fields) can allow him to withstand a ton of continuous damage, allowing him to be more safe in the frontlines to dish out Pulse Rifle damage.  Although because of Soldier 76's Biotic Fields, Zenyatta is usually better off putting his Harmony Orb on other allies that can use healing.

The biggest aspect of Zenyatta with Soldier 76 is to take advantage of his Discord Orb on the enemy.  Always be mindful of which target Zenyatta puts his Discord Orb on, because that should be the most important target to shoot at, as it will take 50% more damage from all your attacks.

Another important synergy is Tactical Visor combined with Zenyatta's ultimate Transcendence.  Similar to Lucio's Sound Barrier, this will allow Soldier 76 to survive for the whole duration of using Tactical Visor.

5)  Symmetra:  Symmetra's Photon Shields helps all her allies by providing more HP that also regenerates after not taking damage.  However, Soldier 76 has Biotic Fields which provides healing for himself and his allies.  Photon Shield is still valuable for Soldier 76, but not as valuable like it is for other offensive attackers.

Since Symmetra is a slow moving hero and has trouble reaching health packs fast enough, she greatly benefits from Biotic Fields.

Symmetra can put Sentry Turrets in rooms and hallways, Soldier 76 can use these protected rooms by sprinting into them if he needs a safe place to retreat to.  By doing this he could also lure enemies into these rooms to easily take them out.

Symmetra's ultimate Teleporter helps her allies to get back to the fight faster after dying, but with Soldier 76, it's negligible since Soldier 76 can Sprint back to the fight fast.  In fact Soldier 76 is one of the fastest heroes of getting back to the fight faster thanks to his Sprint ability, which makes Symmetra's Teleporter not overly powerful with Soldier 76.

Soldier 76's top tank synergies:

1)  Reinhardt:  Out of all the tanks, Reinhardt will take the most benefit from Soldier 76's Biotic Fields.  Reinhardt has no Shield HP, and has relatively poor mobility to reach health packs (besides Charge).  Biotic Fields will dramatically help keep Reinhardt in the fight much longer.

Reinhardt's shield is especially useful for Soldier 76.  Since Soldier 76 is typically not a flank/harass hero like other attackers are, he mostly stays right with his team and can dramatically benefit from staying behind Reinhardt's shield.  Because Soldier 76 is mostly with Reinhardt, Biotic Fields will get a lot of use with Reinhardt as well.

Reinhardt's Earthshatter can let you use Tactical Visor more safely, since the knocked down victims will be unable to attack for a few seconds.  Even getting behind Reinhardt's shield is another way to safely use Tactical Visor.

2)  Winston:  Winston's Barrier Projector (shield globes) work very well with Soldier 76 to block incoming fire power away from him.  Since Soldier 76 typically stays with his team and not wonder around like other attackers, he is usually right with Winston to take advantage of his barriers.  You can also Sprint into his barriers to take cover from it quickly.

Barrier Projectors also provide nice protection while using Tactical Visor.  Winston also can Leap to you from afar and then throw down a barrier, this especially comes in handy while using Tactical Visor or if you need shielding badly and Biotic Field is still on a cooldown.

Biotic Fields are very helpful for Winston.  Winston takes full advantage of the healing capabilities of Biotic Fields and will keep him in the fight a lot longer.  Winston can even Leap to Soldier 76's Biotic Fields for some quick healing.

Winston's ultimate Primal Rage can also make using Tactical Visor safer, since the enemies will be batted around and have trouble aiming at you during this time.

3)  Zarya:  Zarya's Projected Barriers enables Soldier 76 to be more aggressive while in the front lines.  Soldier 76 can also get around and behind the enemy with a combination of a Projected Barrier while sprinting to his destination.  This can possibly give Soldier 76 flanking opportunities.  Tactical Visor can be protected with a Projected Barrier as well.

Biotic Fields are very helpful for Zarya.  She takes great advantage of the healing capabilities of Biotic Fields since she is slow moving and doesn't have any quick means to reach health packs.

When Zarya uses a Graviton Surge, it's usually best to not use Tactical Visor for it, since it does not do splash damage.  Instead just shoot a Helix Rocket at the bunched up enemies followed by Pulse Rifle shots.

4)  D.va:  D.va can use her Boosters to knock down deadly close up enemies such as Reinhardt and Mei, thus giving Soldier 76 better survivability.

Even though D.va can boost to health packs fast, she can still take advantage of Biotic Fields, which will allow her to stay in the fight much longer enabling her to keep her Fusion Cannons going non-stop.

D.va can protect Soldier 76 from incoming fire with her Defense Matrix ability, which especially comes in good use when Soldier 76 uses Tactical Visor at the same time as well.

D.va's Self-Destruct can pair well with Tactical Visor by making enemies run away from the explosion, this can give Tactical Visor easy shots at the fleeing enemies.  But most of the time I recommend separating the two ultimates, since both of them will make enemies run and hide.  By splitting them up you can keep your enemy away for a longer period of time.

5)  Roadhog:  Even though Roadhog has a self heal of 300 (half of his HP) every 8 seconds, Biotic Fields are still very useful for Roadhog.  Biotic Fields can still keep Roadhog in the fight often, allowing him to refrain from using his self heal as much along with making it safer for him to Chain Hook enemies up close.  Roadhog is also usually right around Soldier 76 to take advantage of Biotic Fields often.

Roadhog's ultimate Whole Hog can scatter enemies around giving Soldier 76 an easier time to pick off disoriented enemies from the knock backs of Whole Hog and can make it safer to use Tactical Visor in this situation.

It's usually a good idea to make sure a Biotic Field is put down under Roadhog while he uses Whole Hog, as he is vulnerable while using it because he cannot cancel the ability or use his self heal during his ultimate.

Soldier 76 also pairs well with:

1)  Torbjorn:  Torbjorn can provide armor packs to his allies, with Soldier 76 it can help a little bit to absorb some extra damage.  But keep in mind the armor cannot be healed and you will need to pick up a new armor pack in order to replenish the armor.  Picking up an armor pack right before using Tactical Visor is ideal.

Biotic Fields can be very beneficial to Torbjorn, as he is usually around in the same area as Soldier 76.  Torbjorn's poor mobility makes it hard for him to reach health packs, so Biotic Fields are very useful to him.

And of course Torbjorn's turret provides a nice DPS support for all his allies and can allow a nice defense for you to safely retreat to.

2)  McCree:  Biotic Fields are a godsend for McCree.  McCree's poor mobility makes it hard for him to reach health packs fast enough.  McCree and Soldier 76 typically stay close together so you can supply a nice constant supply of Biotic fields for McCree.  Soldier 76 can also Sprint to McCree's location to drop down a Biotic Field if he needs healed badly.

Stunned enemies from McCree's Flashbangs are easy targets for Soldier 76's Helix Rockets.

Unfortunately, Tactical Visor does not have much synergistic effects with McCree's ultimate Deadeye, as both ultimates are damage outputs and they provide little protection together.

3)  Widowmaker:  Widowmaker's Infra-Sight lets all her allies see every enemy in the game, even behind walls.  For Soldier 76, this let's him shoot Helix Rockets right before an enemy comes around a corner.  This also makes using Tactical Visor safer and more effective.  You can also chase fleeing enemies more effectively as well.

Most of the time Widowmaker is out on a perch sniping enemies and is usually too far away to take advantage of Soldier 76's Biotic Fields.  Besides, Widowmaker can usually grapple to health packs faster if she needs healed.

Widowmaker excels at killing all of Soldier 76's counters, including:  Bastion, Reinhardt, and Zarya.

4)  Mei:  Even though Biotic Fields can be very helpful for Mei, she has her own self heal and is not dependant on other allies to heal her as much.  Biotic Fields can enable Mei to continue freezing enemies up close without being halted by using Cryo-Freeze.

Mei's Ice Wall can provide great crowd control for all her allies by blocking most of the the enemies off and only exposing a few enemies at a time, which provides great protection for Soldier 76.

Mei's ultimate Blizzard pairs very well with Soldier 76's Tactical Visor.  Blizzard will slow and then freeze enemies solid protecting Soldier 76 while using Tactical Visor and preventing enemies from running away from it.  Mei can also freeze single targets up close with her freeze gun, these can be easy targets for Helix rockets or rifle shots to the head.

5)  Hanzo:  Hanzo's Sonic Arrow is similar to Widowmaker's Infra-Sight, except in a small radius, this can allow Soldier 76 to shoot Helix Rockets right before an enemy comes around a corner.  This also makes using Tactical Visor safer and more effective.  You can also chase fleeing enemies more effectively as well.

Hanzo is another ally that will greatly benefit from Biotic Fields as he will usually be around Soldier 76's same area to take advantage of it.

Hanzo's ultimate Dragonstrike can make using Tactical Visor safer and more effective due to the scattered enemies fleeing away from the Dragonstrike.

6)  Junkrat:  Even though Junkrat can use a Mine jump to get to health packs a tad faster, he still greatly benefits from Biotic Fields, and he is usually right around Soldier 76 to take advantage of it when he needs healed.

Junkrat can place Steel Traps and Mines in places to protect choke points or health packs, which can provide a safe spot for Soldier 76 to run to.  You can possibly even lure enemies into Junkrat's traps as well.

Using Tactical Visor at the same time Junkrat uses his ultimate Rip-Tire is not a bad idea.  The Rip-Tire can make enemies run away, which can make Tactical Visor a bit safer to use, but overall this is not that great of a synergy.

Soldier 76's neutral synergies:

7)  Pharah:  Unfortunately, Biotic Fields are not as effective with Pharah since she will be flying around most of the time and away from Soldier 76.  But Pharah can always drop down to a Biotic Field for some quick healing if she needs it.

If Pharah uses her ultimate Barrage at the same time Soldier 76 uses Tactical Visor, it's beneficial for Soldier 76 to focus fire on low hitpoint enemies that do decent medium to long range damage, so that both of the ultimates can remain successful.

8)  Genji:  Biotic Fields can be beneficial to Genji.  The problem is that Genji is usually off on his own and away from Soldier 76 for the most part.

Tactical Visor can make enemies run and hide, which can be a good time for Genji to activate Dragonblade to chase the enemies from hiding away.  Genji can also help protect Soldier 76 from getting attacked while he uses Tactical Visor with a Deflect.

9)  Bastion:  Bastion can provide a hefty DPS, and for any enemies that survive Bastion's gatling gun, Soldier 76 can finish it up with Pulse Rifle shots.

Biotic Fields are not as useful with Bastion since he has his own powerful self heal.

Bastion's ultimate Tank Form can be okay to use at the same time with Tactical Visor.  Tank Form can make enemies scatter around giving you a better chance of survival while using Tactical Visor.

10)  Reaper:  Since Reaper is usually off on his own harassing the enemy from behind, he is often too far away from Soldier 76 to take advantage of Biotic Fields.  However, Reaper can go back to Soldier 76 to get a quick heal if he needs it.  Reaper can also use Shadow Step to get back to Soldier 76 faster as well.  This is usually impractical since Reaper can just Shadow Step to a health pack instead.

Tactical Visor doesn't really have any strategic synergies with Reaper.

11)  Tracer:  Tracer is an independent offensive flanker/harasser and is usually far away from her allies and Soldier 76 to take advantage of Biotic Fields for healing.  Tracer can simply blink to health packs to provide the healing she needs.  Tracer can also use her Recall ability to regain her health back as well.

Soldier 76 and Tracer really don't have any synergies they can do together.

12)  Soldier 76:  Two Soldier 76s is not the best idea because Biotic Fields do not stack and the healing effects will be dubbed down because of this.  If you are on a team with two Soldier 76s, try to spread your Biotic Fields out so it has a larger reach for all your allies.

Two Helix Rockets can be deadly against certain things such as taking out Torbjorn's turret, Bastion Sentries, and Roadhog.

Other than that there's not any synergies I could think of for two Soldier 76s.
