Zenyatta - Members Area Guide
( FP's Overwatch Strategy Guide )

I first want to mention that in order for allies to maintain Zenyatta's Harmony Orb they need to keep line of sight with Zenyatta.  The same thing applies to enemies receiving the Discord Orb, if an enemy loses line of sight with Zenyatta for more than 3 seconds the Discord Orb will drop.  Also allies must keep line of sight with Zenyatta's ultimate Transcendence in order for them to receive the rapid healing benefits of Transcendence.

Zenyatta's Enemy Vs Ally Ultimate Comparison

Zenyatta's Allied Synergies

Zenyatta's top support heroes:

1)  Symmetra:  Zenyatta and Symmetra are commonly paired together as they both have unique support abilities that work well together.  Symmetra can provide allies with a little extra overall HP with her Photon Shield while Zenyatta can provide targeted healing.  Their ultimates are diverse in what they do as well.  Zenyatta's ultimate Transcendence provides a powerful healing aura that can be used to make team pushes more successful while Symmetra's Teleporter is used to get dead allies back to the fight faster.  The only real drawback of this setup is that it's a tad weak on the overall healing capabilities that both Zenyatta and Symmetra provide, but their diversities make up for it.

Zenyatta greatly benefits from Symmetra's Photon Shield as it will give him a total of 125 shield HP, which enables him to take more hits from enemies and gives him more shield to regenerate when taking cover to charge up volley orb shots.

Symmetra does benefit from the Harmony Orb, but generally only if she needs healed.  Even though Symmetra usually stays out of harms way, she has poor mobility to seek health packs, but she does have a 100 HP native shield which can keep her healed more consistently on her own.

Zenyatta's poor mobility makes it harder for him to run away from flankers, but Symmetra's Sentry Turrets can help stall offensive flankers in their tracks and can warn Symmetra of incoming attackers, thus allowing her to tell Zenyatta and her allies to watch out for the incoming attackers.

Zenyatta and Symmetra make a great team for taking down tanks such as Reinhardt and Roadhog.  Zenyatta can give these enemies the Discord Orb while Symmetra fires her Photon Orbs at these enemies.  The Orbs can fly through Reinhardt (or Winston's) shields to damage them and all other enemies behind them.

Zenyatta greatly benefits from taking Symmetra's ultimate Teleporter when he dies because of his poor mobility to run back to the fight normally.  When Zenyatta uses Transcendence it can allow Symmetra to run in the front lines and attack enemies with her Projector Beam to deal some more serious damage.

2)  Mercy:  Zenyatta and Mercy's healing capabilities together provide more than enough healing for a team.  Together they can effectively keep a team healed very consistently and since their ultimates serve different functions they tend to be a good pair together.

Zenyatta is a decent support healer and he excels at healing single targets from a distance.  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is not quite as powerful as Mercy's healing beam but his damage output with his energy orbs and Discord Orb make up for that.

Normally, Mercy's slow HP regeneration is her main means of keeping her health up.  When Zenyatta puts his Harmony Orb on Mercy, it can consistently keep her alive even better and allow her to be more aggressive at flying around to different allies to heal the rest of the team effectively.  Zenyatta consists of mostly shield HP, so he can take cover behind a wall after taking a hit to quickly regenerate all his shield HP back to full.  Zenyatta can also use his ultimate to fill all his life up instantly.  This means that Mercy doesn't necessarily need to keep an eye on him too much, but Mercy can give a quick heal for him while in the midst of battle to keep his energy orbs going strong.

Zenyatta's Discord Orb can allow Mercy to make that same target even weaker by using her Damage Boost on the ally that is attacking that target, this is a strong synergy as it can quickly take that target down with all the extra increased damage output.

It is actually quite effective for Mercy to damage boost Zenyatta.  Zenyatta's energy orbs do a lot of damage and Zenyatta is usually already firing at the enemy that has received his Discord Orb.  Keep in mind that it takes skill to aim with Zenyatta, so if the player has bad aim, Mercy may be better off supporting someone else.

Following Zenyatta as Mercy is relatively safe since Zenyatta usually stays in the backlines where its safer and he can put the Harmony Orb on her along with activating Transcendence if things get too harsh.  Plus Zenyatta's Discord Orb can protect her offensively.

Mercy and Zenyatta's ultimates provide great variety as they each serve different functions on the battlefield.  Zenyatta's ultimate Transcendence provides the team with a powerful healing capabilities that enables strong pushes towards the enemy, or to counter a push done by the enemy.  While Mercy's ultimate Resurrect is great for potentially bringing back a whole dead team back to life.  The two can be done in succession for great success.

Zenyatta greatly benefits from getting Resurrected from Mercy because he is a slow moving hero and will take a while for him to get back to the fight faster after dying.  His Discord and Harmony Orbs are very useful and overall he is high on Mercy's Resurrect list.

3)  Lucio:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is a great compliment for Lucio's heal aura, providing his team with a very overall strong healing capabilities between the two.  When Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is combined with Lucio's heal aura, it will dramatically increase the survival of the ally who has this combo, as this ally would have a total of 42 HP healing per second and then 70 HP healing per second once Lucio's Amp it Up is used.  If Lucio receives the Harmony Orb it can keep Lucio alive much more efficiently and can keep his auras in the game more often.

Speed aura is very beneficial for Zenyatta because his normal movement speed and overall mobility is very poor.  Speed aura is especially useful for getting Zenyatta back to the fight faster after dying, avoiding enemy ultimates and helping him reposition elsewhere quicker.  Speed aura can also get more use with the team since Zenyatta is there to heal damaged allies for him (instead of Lucio switching to heal aura in certain situations).

Lucio should pay attention to what enemy has received Zenyatta's Orb of Discord and he should try to spam his sonic projectiles towards that enemy as it will receive +50% more damage from all attacks taken.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero and Lucio can protect him by using Soundwave to knock enemies and flankers away from him.  Enemies such as Mei (and her freeze gun), Reinhardt (and his Rocket Hammer), Reaper (his shotguns) and McCree (Flashbangs) are the most important to make sure they are knocked back from both Lucio himself and Zenyatta.

Both Lucio and Zenyatta's ultimates are very similar in function and use.  They will both provide means of a strong protection for allies around them for a brief period of time and they are both great for initiating strong pushes towards the enemy.  Because of their similarities, it is recommended that the two ultimates be spaced apart from each other to take the most advantage of them.  When one is used after the other one has ended, it can dramatically ensure the success of a push or to prevent the enemy from pushing forward.

4)  Ana:  An ally who possesses Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is a great Target for Ana's Biotic Grenade, which will double the healing effect of the Harmony Orb, this can be very powerful synergy such as when used when offensive flankers are making their move or during pushes when used on tanks.

Since Zenyatta has a lot of rechargeable shield HP, Ana doesn't necessarily need to keep a constant eye out on Zenyatta to heal him.  Unfortunately, Ana's Biotic Grenades do not increase the recharge rate of shield HP.  Zenyatta can also save himself in time of need with Transcendence as well.  Healing Zenyatta with Ana's Biotic Rifle shots or Biotic Grenades can be beneficial when he is getting flanked or being chased by enemies and needs a quick heal.

If Ana receives the Harmony Orb from Zenyatta, she can use a Biotic Grenade on herself to receive double healing which can really come in handy when she is being flanked.

Ana's Nano Boosted ally (her ultimate) can benefit from Zenyatta's Harmony Orb, allowing the ally to withstand a lot of damage during Nano Boost, which will greatly increase the effectiveness of both abilities.

Nano Boosting Zenyatta is usually a poor choice, as Nano Boosting other support heroes tends to be inefficient due to the reduced damage output of support heroes in general and their main roles are to heal anyways and Nano Boost does not increase healing.  But Zenyatta has the highest DPS out of all the support heroes and can take better advantage of Nano Boost's increased damage output compared to other support heroes.  The extra speed and damage reduction only makes him more effective at throwing his orbs around and taking cover faster.  Nano Boosting Zenyatta's Transcendence is virtually pointless and will be a waste.

Zenyatta's Transcendence heals allies around him for 300HP per second, when combined with Ana's Biotic Grenade, this increases to 600HP per second, this is a bit overkill on the healing and kind of becomes unnecessary.

5)  Zenyatta:  Two Zenyattas are not usually seen in Overwatch and that is because his Orbs cannot stack on multiple heroes and this includes both his Harmony and Discord Orbs.

Zenyatta himself is not really a strong candidate for receiving another Zenyatta's Harmony Orb.  Zenyatta only has 50 health, the rest is 100 shield. This means that he can regenerate a lot of his health back himself, but only when he is not taking damage.  Transcendence will totally save and heal him up.  Because of his own healing abilities, putting the Harmony Orb on another Zenyatta is not usually that useful.  But it's still important to keep him alive as he is a slow moving hero that will still benefit from the Harmony Orb, but generally only if he needs it in a time of an emergency.

Spacing multiple Discord Orbs on several enemies at once can be very effective, but remember that the Discord Orb can be counter by enemies that excel at removing the Discord Orb quickly.  Also, two Zenyatta's can be easily countered by a Widowmaker or offensive flankers such as Genji and Tracer.

Since Transcendence will rapidly heal teammates around Zenyatta it's important to space out two Transcendences apart from each other to take more advantage of the ultimate.

Zenyatta's top tank synergies:

1)  Zarya:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be a decent way to heal Zarya up slowly, although not nearly as effective as Mercy's healing beam, but it can enable Zarya to be more aggressive at staying in the front lines to absorb damage with her Particle Barriers and reduce (or eliminate) the need for her to worry about getting health packs.

Zarya should be mindful which enemy has received Zenyatta's Discord Orb as that should be a prime target for her as all damage done to that target will be amplified by +50%.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero and he is very prone to getting flanked by offensive enemies.  Zarya can protect Zenyatta with a Projected Barrier during these times.

Zenyatta's Transcendence is a powerful team healing ability, which can enable Zenyatta's team to advance forward giving Zarya an easy chance to go further into the front lines to deal damage effectively.  Using Particle/Projected Barriers during Transcendence can be an option for her because they can still charge up her weapon to make it stronger, but the damage blocked won't mean much.

During Zarya's ultimate Graviton Surge, the only method of Zenyatta to deal damage to the surge up enemies is simply firing energy orbs at the clumped up enemies.  However, Zenyatta can use a Transcendence to protect allies that are getting up close to the clumped up enemies.  Allies such as a Roadhog using his ultimate Whole Hog, Genji using Dragonblade, Reaper using Deathblossom or Tracer using Pulse Bomb can all benefit from having Transcendence on to help them survive while using their ultimates against enemies stuck in a Graviton Surge.

2)  Winston:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be very useful for Winston.  The Harmony Orb can allow Winston to not worry about Leaping to health packs as much and can keep him in the fight more often.  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb tends to be more effective than Lucio's heal aura, and more effective than Mercy's somewhat risky healing support since Winston can freely Leap around while still maintaining the Harmony Orb usually.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero and he is very prone to being flanked, so he can get a lot of use from the protection of Winston's Projected Barrier (shield globes).  Zenyatta can safely fire his energy orbs and charged volley shots from inside the barrier.  If Winston sees that Zenyatta is being flanked or is about to get flanked, then he can Leap up to Zenyatta and throw down a barrier and take out enemies with his Tesla Cannon.  If it becomes a harsh situation, even for Winston, he can activate his ultimate Primal Rage to knock back enemies around Zenyatta making it easier to survive.

Winston should be mindful of which enemy has received Zenyatta's Discord Orb, as that target will receive 50% more damage from all of Zenyatta's allies.  Winston should consider focus on Leaping towards that enemy to take him out, as it should be a higher priority target for him.

Zenyatta's Transcendence provides Winston and all other allies around Zenyatta a rapid healing effect that enables Winston to safely get in the front lines to dish out Tesla Cannon damage for a short period of time.  Transcendence is a powerful way to initiate strong pushes towards the enemy.  Winston pairs well with making pushes more successful with Transcendence.  Once the Transcendence is over, Winston can then throw down a barrier for further protection.  If there is still a lot of enemies left over after Transcendence, Winston can use Primal Rage to further bat them away from your team to make a push more successful.

3)  Reinhardt:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can keep Reinhardt healed up in times when he needs it.  Zenyatta should be constantly monitoring his allies health, especially Reinhardt's, and when an ally needs healed he should throw his Harmony Orb on that ally.  Zenyatta needs to be constantly monitoring Reinhardt's health, because remember Reinhardt's shield can easily mitigate damage away from him and he can be topped off on health for long periods of time.  This means Zenyatta should give the Harmony Orb to someone else that can take advantage of it while Reinhardt is fully healed.  But keeping Reinhardt healed should be a prime concern for Zenyatta.

Zenyatta does a lot of damage with his energy orbs, but he is a very squishy support target for enemies to fire at.  Reinhardt's shield enables him to safely dish out damage with his energy orbs while staying covered from snipers and other damage dealers.

When Reinhardt initiates a Charge at the enemy, he oftentimes charges into a bunch of other enemies and it can be dangerous for him.  Zenyatta can give Reinhardt the Harmony Orb at this moment to help him survive after charging.

Reinhardt should be mindful of which enemy has received Zenyatta's Discord Orb and he should consider firing his Fire Strike at that target to do +50% more damage.

Zenyatta's Transcendence can allow Reinhardt to lower his shield and concentrate on advancing towards the enemy by charging and then doing Rocket Hammer attacks on them.  Reinhardt can use his ultimate Earthshatter at this time to prevent enemies from running away from the Transcendence.

4)  D.va:  Even though Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can keep D.va healed up and allowing her to not worrying about boosting to health packs as much, she is generally not a prime candidate for the Harmony Orb since D.va's boosters allow her to constantly fly to health packs to refill up and her Defense Matrix ability can block incoming shots, so she isn't a prime target for healing.  Not to mention D.va's ultimate will blow up her mech anyways and she can then call down a fresh one with full health, so healing her is not that important.  However if D.va is a ways off from using her ultimate (Self-Destruct), then she will benefit from having the Harmony Orb on her, especially if she is playing aggressively and constantly harassing the enemy.

Zenyatta can setup ambushes with D.va by giving her the Harmony Orb and she can then boost to a specific enemy such as Widowmaker or another stray enemy that has your Discord Orb on them.  In this case, healing D.va tends to be powerful in this situation, and since D.va is mostly comprised of armor, healing armor up is a lot more efficient than healing regular HP.  If it's not a life/death situation for D.va, Zenyatta is generally better off putting his Harmony Orb on a different ally that can make better use of it.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero, so D.va should keep an eye out on him and if he is getting flanked, she can boost up to him and knock down enemies and then activate Defense Matrix so he can freely fire his energy orbs at the flankers, D.va can follow that up with Fusion Cannons to deal high damage up close.

Zenyatta's Transcendence will rapidly heal D.va, allowing her to safely dish out Fusion Cannon damage close up to her enemies.  But keep in mind it is generally a good idea to space out D.va's ultimate Self-Destruct with Zenyatta's Transcendence, as both ultimates will make the enemies run away from them.  Spacing them apart keeps your enemies away for a longer period of time.

5)  Roadhog:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be a decent way to heal Roadhog up slowly, not nearly as effective as Mercy's healing beam, but it can enable Roadhog to be more aggressive at staying in the front lines to use Chain Hook and fire Scrap Gun shots out.  Although keeping Roadhog healed isn't a prime concern for Zenyatta due to Roadhog's Take a Breather (self-heal) and you are usually better off giving it to other allies that have poor mobility to reach health packs or means of self healing.  When Roadhog uses his ultimate Whole Hog, he can greatly benefit from the Harmony Orb as he tends to be very vulnerable while using it.

When Roadhog Chain Hooks an enemy into him, Zenyatta can give that enemy the Discord Orb to ensure the death of the chained in victim, this becomes especially valuable against high HP tanks.

Roadhog should be mindful of which enemy has received Zenyatta's Discord Orb as that should be a prime target for Scrap Gun shots.

Zenyatta is a very squishy support hero and he is very prone to getting flanked by offensive enemies.  Roadhog can protect Zenyatta by Chain Hooking flankers away from him and he can also use Whole Hog to knock enemies away from Zenyatta.

Zenyatta's Transcendence is a powerful team healing ability, which can enable Zenyatta's team to advance forward giving Roadhog easy opportunities to Chain Hook enemies and get closer to fire Scrap Gun shots off safely.

Zenyatta also pairs well with:

1)  Torbjorn:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be thrown on Torbjorn if he needs healed up, which is more efficient for him to run to a health pack due to his slow movement.  But keeping the Harmony Orb on Torbjorn after fully healed is not as efficient as it being kept on other offensive flankers.  Also, having the Harmony Orb on Torbjorn can make it safer for him to go in the front lines to pick up Scrap.

Torbjorn's Armor Pack is extremely useful for Zenyatta because has native HP pool is only 200, having a +75 Armor Pack on gives Zenyatta 275 HP, which is substantially more and can allow Zenyatta to take headshots and live from many weapons in the game.  Keeping Zenyatta alive maintains his Orbs on his selected targets.

Torbjorn should be mindful of which enemy that Zenyatta puts his Discord Orb on, as that will be a prime target for him to attack with his Rivet Gun, as it will do 50% more damage to the target.

Just like with Lucio's ultimate Sound Barrier, it's generally better for Torbjorn to use his ultimate Molten Core at a different time than when Zenyatta uses his ultimate Transcendence.  Transcendence will rapidly heal Torbjorn, but so does his ultimate Molten Core slightly (+300 armor), so it's generally better to space the two part so he can be more aggressive and have survivability longer.

Zenyatta can use his Transcendence to protect Torbjorn's turret by blocking shots with the large hitbox of Transcendence.  Transcendence can also make it safer for Torbjorn to run around and pick up Scrap.

2)  Soldier 76:  Just like Lucio's heal aura, Zenyatta's Harmony Orb on Soldier 76 (even combined with Soldier 76's Biotic Fields) can allow him to withstand a ton of continuous damage, allowing him to be more safe in the frontlines to dish out Pulse Rifle damage.  Although because of Soldier 76's Biotic Fields, Zenyatta is usually better off putting his Harmony Orb on other allies that can use healing.

The biggest aspect of Zenyatta with Soldier 76 is for Soldier 76 to take advantage of Zenyatta's Discord Orb on the enemy.  Soldier 76 should always be mindful of which target Zenyatta puts his Discord Orb on, because that should be the most important target for him to shoot at, as it will take 50% more damage from all of his attacks.

Another important synergy is Soldier 76's ultimate Tactical Visor combined with Zenyatta's Transcendence.  Similar to Lucio's Sound Barrier, this will allow Soldier 76 to survive for the whole duration of using Tactical Visor.

3)  Pharah:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is very useful on Pharah.  It is relatively easy for Zenyatta and Pharah to keep line of sight with each other because of the nature of Pharah's flying ability.  Even if she needs a quick heal from up above, Zenyatta can quickly throw his Harmony Orb on her to quickly heal her up.

When Pharah Attacks enemies with a Discord Orb on them, it will almost feel like she has Quad damage on (like from the Quake games).  Pharah should always pay attention to Zenyatta to make sure she keeps line of sight with him (if she has the Harmony Orb) and to also see what Zenyatta is shooting at, because 90% of the time the enemy Zenyatta is shooting it is the one that probably has the Discord Orb on.  That should be a higher priority target for Pharah as well.

Like Lucio's Sound Barrier, Zenyatta's Transcendence will enable Pharah to use Barrage without worrying about being shot down while using it.  Transcendence can also enable Pharah to use Barrage while on the ground since Transcendence will act as a shield to block incoming shots from the enemy.

Pharah is weak against Roadhog and his Chain Hook, but Zenyatta is a great counter to Roadhog thanks to his Discord Orb and charged volley shots which can help fend away Roadhog from Chain Hooking Pharah in.

4)  Junkrat:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb works great with Junkrat since the two are usually within the line of sight of each other, so the Orb should stay on Junkrat most of the time, and Junkrat is a great target for the Harmony Orb in general due to his slow mobility to reach health packs (besides his mine jumps).  The Harmony Orb can keep Junkrat's grenade spam going non-stop without delay.

Junkrat should be mindful of which enemy Zenyatta puts his Discord Orb on and he should try to focus his grenade spam that direction to do 50% more damage to that target.

Zenyatta and Junkrat have a nice combo to deal with Reinhardt and his shield.  Zenyatta can put his Discord Orb on Reinhardt, then Junkrat can launch grenades in a way which can ricochet off of walls behind Reinhardt and then bounce to him.

Zenyatta is a squishy support hero with poor mobility and as such he is a high priority target for getting flanked.  Junkrat can protect Zenyatta with his Trap/Mine combo to prevent flankers from potentially reaching to him.

Zenyatta's Transcendence works similar to Lucio's Sound Barrier, which provides the ability to withstand a lot of damage for a short period of time.  This can enable Junkrat to be more aggressive at advancing towards the enemy and it can protect his character when using Rip-Tire as well.  Unfortunately, Transcendence does not heal damage done to Rip-Tires.

5)  Widowmaker:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be useful on Widowmaker if she needs a quick heal, but it's generally not worth it for Zenyatta to keep it on her.  Widowmaker is usually within range and line of sight of Zenyatta to receive the Harmony Orb whenever she needs a quick heal.

Zenyatta's Discord Orb can make shooting down enemies much faster for Widowmaker and it can increase the use of her non charged sniper shots, enabling Widowmaker to have more opportunities to land sniper shots on the enemy.  Since Zenyatta and Widowmaker stay somewhat close to each other, the target who has the Discord Orb is usually within Widowmaker's sight.

Widowmaker's ultimate Infra-Sight can allow Zenyatta to rev up charged volley orb shots against enemies just about to come around walls/corners and to make more informed decision on avoiding offensive flankers.

Zenyatta's Transcendence doesn't really pair too well with Widowmaker, since she tends to stay back away while sniping and usually can't take advantage of the healing benefits of Transcendence.  It can however provide some distraction for her while sniping, which could prevent enemies from firing at her during Transcendence.

6)  McCree:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb works great with McCree since the two are usually within the line of sight of each other, so the Orb should stay on McCree most of the time, and McCree is a great target for the Harmony Orb in general due to his slow mobility to reach health packs.

Zenyatta's Discord Orb makes shooting down enemies much faster for McCree, since Zenyatta and McCree stay somewhat close to each other, the target who has the Discord Orb is usually within McCree's sight.

Zenyatta's Transcendence pairs well with McCree's ultimate Deadeye, allowing him to withstand a lot of damage while revving up Deadeye shots.  Transcendence and Deadeye is also a good combination for a strong push towards objectives and to get through choke points.

7)  Hanzo:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb works great with Hanzo since the two are usually within line of sight of each other, so the Orb should stay on Hanzo most of the time, and Hanzo is a great target for the Harmony Orb in general due to his slow mobility to reach health packs.

Zenyatta's Discord Orb makes shooting down enemies much faster for Hanzo.  Since Zenyatta and Hanzo stay somewhat close to each other, the target who has the Discord Orb is usually within Hanzo's sight.

Hanzo's Sonic Arrow can allow Zenyatta to rev up charged volley orb shots against enemies just about to come around walls/corners and allowing Zenyatta to make more informed decision on avoiding offensive flankers.

Hanzo's ultimate Dragonstrike combined with Zenyatta's Transcendence can be a powerful combination to make a push successful.  Transcendence in general can allow Hanzo to move out in the open towards the front lines more without worrying about getting killed (as much) for a few seconds.

8)  Mei:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb is not overly useful with Mei since she can just use Cryo-Freeze to heal herself, but like with other healers she can take advantage of the extra healing and remain in the front lines longer to focus on freezing targets without worrying about using Cryo-Freeze as much.  Zenyatta is usually better off putting his Harmony Orb on a different ally, but if Mei is trying to freeze enemies up close she becomes a prime target for it.  Just like how a Cryo-Freeze will instantly remove an enemy Zenyatta's Discord Orb, it will also remove the Harmony Orb, but at 3/4 of the Cryo-Freeze duration.

Frozen targets are actually easy for Zenyatta to attack at with his energy orbs, which can allow Mei to continue freezing more targets instead of using Icicles to finish off the frozen victims.

Enemies who have received the Discord Orb are great targets for Mei's Icicle shots, so she should be mindful on which enemy Zenyatta puts his Discord Orb on and focus on killing that enemy before others.

Sometimes it's beneficial to prevent an enemy from losing sight with Zenyatta who has received the Discord Orb.  Mei can achieve this by using her Ice Wall to block an enemy in to prevent this from happening.  Mei's Ice Walls can also be used to block enemies away from Zenyatta to protect him from offensive flankers.

Zenyatta's Transcendence can allow Mei to be very aggressive at moving in the front lines to freeze enemies with her freeze gun and preventing enemies from running away with Ice Walls.  But besides that there really isn't any other synergies with Transcendence because Mei is already self sufficient with her Cryo-Freeze to heal up damage.

9)  Genji:  Zenyatta's Discord Orb can make Genji's work much easier since all of his attacks will be amplified by 50% on the target who has the Discord Orb.  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be effective on Genji, but since Genji usually wonders around too far, he usually loses Zenyatta's line of sight for it to last long enough to be of a huge importance.  If Genji gets the Harmony Orb from Zenyatta, he should try to stay within Zenyatta's line of sight if he can to gain the extra healing from it.

Zenyatta's Transcendence actually works very well with Genji's Dragonblade ultimate as Genji is usually very vulnerable while using it, but with Transcendence he doesn't have to worry too much about getting hurt while using it.

10)  Bastion:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be useful when put on a Bastion Sentry, especially when a Sentry is positioned on top of a moving Payload or more out in the open where Zenyatta can keep line of sight with Bastion better.  Even then, Bastion's Self-Heal makes a Harmony Orb less useful on him as opposed to other allies that would benefit from it better.

Zenyatta's Discord Orb on an enemy will literally make any target melt to Bastion's gatling gun in Sentry Mode.  This becomes especially helpful against tanks.

Zenyatta's Transcendence pairs well with Bastion's ultimate Tank Form.  This combination is great for initiating strong pushes and keeping Bastion alive during his ultimate.  Transcendence in general can help Bastion survive ambushes and can also block shots coming at his direction.

11)  Reaper:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be very beneficial to Reaper but most of the time Reaper is not in Zenyatta's line of site due to his nature of being off on his own most of the time flanking his enemies, usually through passages and hallways.  If Reaper needs healing badly, he can reach Zenyatta's line of sight and ask for a quick orb heal, other than that its usually not practical to maintain a Harmony Orb on as Reaper.  When Reaper uses Shadow Wraith it will drop enemy Discord Orbs from him, but it will NOT drop Harmony Orbs from him.

Sometimes you can plan a flank with Reaper (or with other offensive allied flankers like Tracer or Genji).  For example you can plan to flank enemies like Mercy or Reinhardt.  Put the Discord Orb on your flank target and then proceed with the flank.  Attacking enemies with a Discord orb on them will kill them very fast.  If Reaper keeps line of sight with Zenyatta he can also obtain the Harmony Orb as well to make the flank even more successful.

Zenyatta's Transcendence pairs very well with Reaper's ultimate Deathblossom.  Normally Deathblossom can be risky to use, but the rapid heal of Transcendence will ensure it will be successful.

12)  Tracer:  Zenyatta's Harmony Orb can be very beneficial for Tracer, but most of the time Tracer is not in Zenyatta's line of site due to her nature of being off on her own most of the time flanking her enemies, usually behind enemy lines.  If Tracer needs healing badly, she can reach Zenyatta's line of sight and ask for a quick orb heal, other than that its usually not practical to maintain a Harmony Orb on as Tracer.

Zenyatta's Transcendence heals all allies around him very rapidly, this can allow Tracer to basically do what ever she wants for a short period of time without worrying about dying, as long as she sticks around the Transcendence.
